The 78th Independence Day of India’s independence was celebrated with zeal and gaiety across Haryana today. Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya hoisted the tricolour at Yamunanagar and the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini hoisted the tricolour at Kurukshetra. Besides this, Cabinet Ministers and Minister of State also graced the occasion of Independence Day organised in different parts of the state and remembered the martyrs by hoisting the National Flag.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister hoisted the National  Flag in Kaithal

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, hoisted the flag during the Independence Day celebrations in Kaithal. Addressing the district residents, he said that countless sons of Mother India sacrificed everything for the country’s freedom. It is thanks to the immortal martyrs’ sacrifices that we breathe freely today. He stated that the present state government, which has taken on the responsibility of public service with the resolve of ‘Good Governance through Service,’ has worked for the progress and upliftment of Haryana and every Haryanvi based on Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s mantras of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek.’ He said that adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, the government has provided transparent governance. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, efforts have been made not only to create a better system for public service and the public but also to ensure that every individual benefits from schemes and services in a simplified manner.

Industries and Commerce Minister hoisted the National  Flag in Panipat

Industries and Commerce Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma hoisted the flag at the district-level Independence Day celebration held at Shivaji Stadium in Panipat. In his address, the Minister congratulated the residents of the district on the 78th Independence Day and extended his best wishes. He also specially congratulated the brave soldiers stationed on the country’s borders in challenging conditions.

Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that even after independence, Haryana’s brave soldiers have continuously contributed to preserving the country’s freedom, from the foreign invasions of 1962, 1965, and 1971 to the Kargil War. We can never repay the debt of the martyrs’ sacrifices, but we can show respect by taking care of their families. In this direction, the government has established the ‘Soldier and Paramilitary Welfare Department, said the Minister.

He said that the ex-gratia amount for soldiers and paramilitary forces who died in war or due to IED blasts has been increased to Rs. 50 lakh. The Agniveer Scheme has been introduced to offer special benefits in jobs and loans up to Rs. 5 lakh for self-employment.

He said adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, the government has provided transparent governance. The history of this sacred land, where the message of the Gita’s karma has prevailed, has no place for religious intolerance or violence. Accordingly, efforts are continuously made to foster mutual love, harmony, and brotherhood in the state. He said that in the past decade, Haryana has witnessed changes that have made every individual’s life simpler, smoother, and safer, along with maintaining harmony, unity, and equal development.

Energy Minister hoists the flag at Fatehabad

Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh hoisted the National Flag and took the parade salute at Fatehabad.  The Minister paid tribute to the immortal martyrs by offering flowers at the Shaheedi Memorial located near the Mini Secretariat. Addressing the district-level ceremony,  Sh. Ranjit Singh said that today  everyone is celebrating the festival of freedom while remembering the sacrifices of the immortal martyrs. We have moved from the darkness of slavery into the light of freedom. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is progressing on the path of development.  He said that Haryana produces 37 percent of the country’s tractors, 53 percent of cranes, 51 percent of cars, and 60 percent of motorcycles, showing its advancement. He said that in accordance with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s vision of Antyodaya, the state government has ensured that the benefits of schemes reach the eligible families.

Finance Minister hoists flag at Rohtak

The Finance Minister, Sh. J P Dala hoisted the flag at Rohtak. While paying tribute to all known and unknown martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the altar of independence, Sh. Jai Prakash Dalal, said that the sacrifice of these brave soldiers has preserved the unity and integrity of the nation.

He said that in memory of the first spark of the freedom movement from Ambala in 1857, a Shaheedi Samarak is being constructed in Ambala Cantonment dedicated to the martyrs. He said that the farmer-friendly government has decided to purchase all crops from farmers at Minimum Support Price.

The Minister said that Haryana has become the first state in the country to do so. The government has abolished the farmer’s Abiyana and also waived past dues. In view of the low rainfall, the government has decided to give a bonus of Rs. 2,000 per acre for Kharif and horticultural crops. An amount of Rs. 5,693.59 crore has been disbursed to 20 lakh farmers in 17 installments under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.

Public Works Minister hoists flag in Gurugram

Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, hoisted the flag at Gurugram.  In his address, Dr. Banwari Lal extended Independence Day greetings to the people of Gurugram, stating that today is a day of joy and pride for every Indian. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has painted the entire country in the colors of patriotism.  He said that for this day, countless sons of Mother India sacrificed everything. Many patriots endured hardships and sufferings for this day.

Dr. Banwari Lal referred to the vision of a developed India and said that Haryana will play a significant role in this meaningful journey of pride. Gurugram district will have a special place in this role. He said that Gurugram is not only a modern and developed city in Haryana but also has a unique identity at the national and international levels. Under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the double-engine government is actively prioritizing the development of world-class infrastructure throughout Haryana and paving the way for prosperity through connectivity.

He mentioned that the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign for environmental protection is a significant part of these efforts. He urged Gurugram residents to participate in a major tree planting campaign on August 16 and contribute to providing a better and cleaner environment for future generations.

Health Minister hoist flag at Hisar

The Health and Civil Aviation Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, hoisted the flag at the district-level Independence Day ceremony held at the Giri Center of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. Earlier, the Cabinet Minister paid floral tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom and those who gave their lives to maintain the unity and integrity of the nation after independence, at the martyr memorial near the Mini Secretariat complex.

During the ceremony, the Cabinet Minister announced a grant of Rs. 2 lakh to the district welfare center and Rs. 5 lakh to be given to all the children presenting cultural programs. He said that the country has achieved significant milestones in various fields since independence. The nation is producing missiles with advanced technology and is also running missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, said Dr. Kamal Gupta.

The Minister said that the country has a robust network of railways and road transport. Due to numerous ambitious achievements, the world acknowledges our strength. He said that the present state government, which is committed to good governance and public service with the resolution of serving the people, has worked towards the progress and upliftment of everyone, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s core principle of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’.

He said that Parivar Pehchan Patra is a document through which eligible individuals are provided benefits of various schemes. The government has implemented several welfare schemes for the public. He said that the central and Haryana governments have worked to eliminate corruption, instilling confidence in every youth that they can secure their place through hard work and talent. Dr. Kamal Gupta said that Haryana is the first state in the country to offer the highest cash rewards to medal-winning athletes. He said that the present state government is providing employment opportunities to the youth based on merit.

Education Minister hoists Flag in Palwal

Minister of State for Education, Smt. Seema Trikha hoisted the National Flag and took the parade salute at Palwal. Addressing the gathering Smt. Seema Trikha said today is a day of joy and pride for every Indian. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program has painted the entire country in patriotic colors with the tricolor. Countless sons of ‘Maa Bharti’ sacrificed everything for this day, and numerous patriots endured suffering and torture for it, she said.

Smt. Seema Trikha said that to enhance health services, medical colleges are being opened in every district, and necessary equipment is being increased in other health institutions to provide better health facilities close to citizens’ homes. The government is establishing the state’s first AIIMS in Rewari and setting up government medical colleges in Panchkula, Palwal, Fatehabad, and Charkhi Dadri. All state government medical colleges now have Prime Minister’s Indian Jan Aushadhi Centers, shared the Minister.

At the end of the ceremony, the Minister urged everyone to uphold the great cultural traditions and high moral values of the nation and to work together to make the country and state clean, healthy, prosperous, and successful.

Development and Panchayat Minister hoists the National Flag in Sonipat

The Minister of state for Development and Panchayat, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, hoisted the National Flag at a function held in Sonipat and extended Independence Day greetings to the citizens. Prior to this, he paid tribute to the brave martyrs and freedom fighters by laying a floral wreath at the Shaheed Smarak (Martyrs’ Memorial) near the police lines.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that Haryana is a land of brave soldiers whose warriors have shown valor from the freedom struggle to the wars with China in 1962, Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, and Kargil. He said that the significant roles played by leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Ramprasad Bismil, Chandrashekhar Azad, Lala Rajpat Rai, and others in gaining independence, and emphasized that we can never repay their debt. Sh.  Mahipal Dhanda also acknowledged the contributions of leaders like Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, former Prime Minister, Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Chaudhary Charan Singh. He urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from such leaders regarding patriotism and national service.

Transport Minister hoists flag in Ambala city

Minister of State for Transport, Women, and Child Development Minister, Sh. Aseem Goel Naneol, hoisted the flag in Ambala City and took the parade salute. The Transport Minister said that the first spark of the freedom movement ignited on May 10, 1857, in Ambala, Haryana. This spark eventually led to a popular movement, which helped us overthrow British rule in 1947. To inspire the younger generation with the patriotism of these martyrs, an international-level ‘Shaheedi Smarak’ is being built in Ambala Cantt. Minister of State for Irrigation and Water Resources hoisted the tricolor at Faridabad

The Minister of State for Irrigation and Water Resources, Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav, hoisted the tricolor at Faridabad. He congratulated the citizens of the country, state, and district on the 78th Independence Day while hoisting the tricolor. Paying tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs, Dr. Abhe Singh said that everyone should celebrate national festivals with great pomp. Prior to this, he visited the Shaheed Smarak to offer a floral wreath and pay homage to the brave martyrs. He said that countless sons of Maa Bharti sacrificed everything for this day. For this day, innumerable patriots endured hardships and sufferings. He said that it is due to their unparalleled sacrifice that we breathe in the air of freedom today.

This initiative reflects our collective commitment to creating a drug-free India, providing our youth with the opportunity to lead healthy and productive lives. Reaching over 11.22 crore people, NMBA has become a mass movement, supported by over 3.54 lakh youths and more than 2.35 lakh women.

On this auspicious occasion, I urge all the youth and women, who have the potential to lead us to a developed India, to take the lead in this campaign and actively participate at every level to make it successful, said Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav.

Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies hoisted the Flag in Karnal

Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies, Sh. Subhash Sudha, hoisted the flag in Karnal. He honored freedom fighters and their families and paid tribute to the known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence. After hoisting the flag, Sh. Subhash Sudha announced to give Rs. 2.5 Lakh from his discretionary fund for those who gave cultural performances during the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Haryana had a special role in the freedom struggle.  He said that the brave sons of Haryana played a significant role in securing the country’s borders. He said that while the debt of the martyrs’ sacrifices can never be repaid, we can show respect by taking care of their families. The state government has increased the ex-gratia amount for Haryana soldiers and paramilitary forces who died in the war from Rs. 50 lakhs to Rs.1 crore. So far, 415 dependents of martyrs have been given jobs on compassionate grounds.

He said that the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and provided transparent governance. He said that to minimize human intervention in administration, IT has been extensively used. During this government’s tenure, 72 sewage treatment plants have been started at a cost of Rs. 433.60 crore, and pipelines totaling 24,235.51 km in length have been laid at a cost of Rs. 4,159.47 crore. Haryana has become the first state in the country to purchase 24 crops at MSP, he added.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister hoists flag at Charkhi Dadri

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh.  Bisamber Singh today hoisted the flag at Charkhi Dardi. Addressing the gathering the Minister said that the present state government, committed to good governance and service, has worked for the progress and upliftment of every part of Haryana and every Haryanvi, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” and “Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek.’ He said that adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, the government has provided transparent governance.

The Minister said that today, there is direct communication between the public and the government.  He said that large-scale use of information technology has been implemented to minimize human intervention in administration. Benefits such as marriage grants for poor daughters, pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled, BPL cards, and Chiryayu cards are now directly transferred to the eligible individual’s account with just a click. The government is committed to the welfare and upliftment of all marginalized and disadvantaged sections of society, said Sh. Bisamber Singh.

He said that efforts are being made to enhance health services by opening medical colleges in every district and increasing necessary equipment in other health institutions so that citizens can access better health facilities closer to their homes. Government medical colleges will be established in Charkhi Dadri, Panchkula, Palwal, and Fatehabad.

The Minister of State for Sports hoists flag in Nuh

The Minister of State for Sports, Environment, Forests, and Wildlife, Sh. Sanjay Singh hoisted the national flag in Nuh District. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Haryana is not only known for its farmers and soldiers but is also becoming a hub for sports and athletes. The state’s athletes are winning medals at national and international levels, bringing pride to both the state and the country. Recently, India won six medals at the Paris Olympics, four of which were secured by athletes from Haryana, including Neeraj Chopra, Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh, and Aman Sehrawat. The government is awarding cash prizes and government jobs to these medal-winning athletes.

Prior to this, he paid tribute to the martyrs at the ‘Shahidi Smarak’. He took the salute of the grand march-past by the parade contingents and mentioned that many freedom fighters fought long and hard to free us from British rule. He further stated that an initiative has been taken in Karnal, where an Oxy Van has been established on about 80 acres of land. Today, across the state, 50 lakh saplings are being planted by government departments, non-governmental organisations, religious institutions, school students, and volunteers. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is making decisions in the public interest, empowering sarpanch with the authority to spend Rs.21 lakh on development work. Benefits for BPL families include gas cylinders for Rs. 500 and 1,000 kilometres of free travel under the “Happy Yojana” in Haryana Roadways buses.
