Union Budget 2024 dedicated to the poor, youth, women, farmers, and the middle class: Dr. Kamal Gupta

Chandigarh, July 28 –

Haryana Health and Civil Aviation Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta said that the Union Budget 2024, presented by Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, is dedicated to the poor, youth, women, farmers, and the middle class and will bring revolutionary changes in their lives. Provisions have also been made in this budget for the development of infrastructure, health facilities and creation of employment opportunities in Haryana.

Dr. Kamal Gupta was addressing a press conference organised in Sirsa today.

The Minister stated that the government has made a commendable decision by providing tax exemptions for the middle-income group. Now, incomes up to Rs. 7.75 lakh will be completely tax-free. This will significantly benefit salaried employees, small shopkeepers, and homemakers running their own businesses.

He said that in the Union Budget, provision of Rs. 3 lakh crore has been made for schemes benefiting women and girls. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, one crore homes will receive up to 300 units of free electricity each month.

He further said that the Union Minister has presented a budget of Rs. 48 lakh crore, which is three times more than the budget presented in 2013-14. Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, 3 crore women will be empowered and made self-reliant, with a budget allocation of Rs. 3 lakh crore. The scheme includes various skill training programs for women self-help groups, enabling them to become self-employed and improve their economic condition.
