Haryana NEWS : Haryana Govt to promptly settle pending claims under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

Haryana NEWS : Chief Principal Secretary to Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, along with representatives from the Indian Medical Association (IMA), held a meeting today where they assured that the IMA’s demands would be addressed. All claims under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana submitted by March 10 will be processed and paid by March 31, 2025. The necessary funds for this will be approved in the revised budget. Additionally, a budget of Rs 2500 crore will be allocated for the settlement and timely payment of claims under the scheme for the upcoming year.

The IMA representatives expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, acknowledging his swift action in addressing their concerns. They assured that treatment under Ayushman Bharat Yojana will continue smoothly, and patients will not face any issues.

Smt. Sangeeta Tetarwal, CEO of Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority, shared that Rs 195 crore has been paid for claims received from January 1 onwards. Pending claims will be settled in February, and all claims received by March 10 will be cleared by March 31, 2025.

During the meeting, the claim process was explained in detail. It was decided that claims related to medicine and pediatrics will be handled by a specialized team of doctors. Additionally, hospitals will receive prompt information about suspicious cases identified through Artificial Intelligence.

In cases where claim amounts are reduced, hospitals will provide detailed explanations for the reductions. Doctors will be retrained to ensure accurate claim inspections, ensuring timely payments and minimizing unnecessary deductions. If a patient chooses not to receive treatment under the scheme, they will have the option to undergo treatment at their own cost.

The process for appealing claims will also be strengthened, allowing hospitals to file a second appeal if necessary. Strict instructions have been issued to officials to ensure claims are settled within the prescribed time limit.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, and representatives of the Haryana unit of IMA.
