Haryana NEWS : Haryana men’s team secured the gold medal by defeating Punjab in the final of the inaugural Under-23 National Basketball Championship, held in Guwahati, Assam, from March 18 to March 24.
Haryana emerged victorious with a 94-73 win in the final match, showcasing an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The team triumphed over Karnataka in the semi-finals, Tamil Nadu in the quarter-finals, and Bihar in the pre-quarterfinals, while also defeating Meghalaya, West Bengal, and Chandigarh in the league stage.
Led by captain Sahil Taya, the team delivered exceptional performances in every match. Players Rajan, Deependra, Ankush, Rahul, Ajay, and Lakshya also played crucial roles in the team’s success. Coach Vinay Sheoran praised the team for their remarkable achievement, while coach Deepak Sharma and manager Vishal Singh commended the players’ dedication and hard work.
The players expressed gratitude to Haryana State Basketball Association administrator and Hisar Commissioner, Sh. A Sreenivas, for his support in selecting and sending a strong team to the competition.
