Haryana News: Advancing the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign launched by Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi for environmental conservation, a tree plantation program was held today at the Shakti Bhawan premises, Sector-6, Panchkula.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department and Chairman of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), Sh. AK Singh, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of HVPNL, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal; and Managing Director of HPGCL and Director of HVPNL, Sh. Mohammed Shayin planted saplings. They conveyed a strong message about environmental conservation and encouraged officers and employees to each plant at least one sapling in the name of mother.
Other HVPNL officers who took part in the sapling planting initiative included Director (Finance) Sh. Rohitash Kumar Bansal, Director (Projects) Sh. Man Mohan Matta, Director (Technical) Sh. Manoj Kumar Vats, and Independent Directors Sh. Alok Krishna, Sh. Atul Mukhi, Sh. AK Mishra, and Smt. Manju Kaushik
Plant saplings and also ensure their protection- AK Singh
Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department and Chairman of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), Sh. AK Singh urged all present to not only plant saplings but also to ensure their maintenance. He emphasized that the true success of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign depends on both planting and protecting the saplings.

Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of HVPNL, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal highlighted that the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign was launched by Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi on World Environment Day, June 5. The Prime Minister’s message underscores that just as we honor our mothers who gave us life, we should also honor Mother Earth by planting trees in her name, thereby contributing to environmental conservation.
Haryana Government’s Commitment and Upcoming Drive
aDr. Agrawal further stated that the Haryana government is committed to making the state greener and reducing pollution under Prime Minister Modi’s campaign Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. He informed that a statewide plantation drive will take place on August 16, aiming to plant at least 2.5 lakh saplings in each district, with a total target of 51 lakh saplings across the state. The state-level event will be held in Kaithal, where Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini will be the Chief Guest.
