Haryana extends Smart City projects in Karnal and Faridabad till March 2027 to ensure timely completion under the Haryana Smart City Project 2027.

The government of Haryana has taken a significant step in strengthening urban development initiatives by extending the timeline of key city development works. The Haryana Smart City Project 2027 now includes extended deadlines for ongoing projects in Karnal and Faridabad.

The decision was taken in a high-level meeting of the State Level High Powered Steering Committee (SLHPSC), chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, where the progress of Smart City Mission projects in both cities was reviewed in detail.

Karnal Smart City Project extended till 2027

Under the updated plan of the Haryana Smart City Project 2027, the Karnal Smart City project along with its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) has been extended up to 31 March 2027. This extension aims to ensure smooth completion of all pending development works in the city.

Officials noted that the additional time will help in improving execution quality and timely completion of infrastructure upgrades planned under the mission.

Faridabad Smart City project also gets extension

Similarly, the Faridabad Smart City project has also been extended until 31 March 2027 as part of the Haryana Smart City Project 2027 framework. The extension is expected to ensure better coordination among executing agencies and timely delivery of ongoing works.

The government emphasized that the revised timeline will help in completing construction activities efficiently and with improved planning.

Focus on smooth asset transfer and completion

Another key objective of the Haryana Smart City Project 2027 extension is to ensure seamless transfer of completed assets to the concerned departments. This will allow better utilization of newly developed urban infrastructure in both cities.

Authorities believe that the extended timeline will bring greater continuity in execution and prevent delays in project handover processes.
