Haryana is set to undertake a major electoral reform exercise after nearly 24 years, as the state prepares to begin a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. The large-scale drive aims to update and verify the electoral rolls to ensure accuracy and transparency in the democratic process.

15 June to 14 July 2026 campaign period

According to the directions issued by the Election Commission of India, the statewide revision exercise will be conducted from 15 June 2026 to 14 July 2026. During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will carry out door-to-door verification of voters across the state.

The process will include adding new eligible voters, removing deceased or shifted individuals, and correcting existing entries in the voter database.

Door-to-door voter verification by BLOs

Booth Level Officers (Booth Level Officer (BLO)) will visit households to verify voter details and ensure that only eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls. The initiative is expected to significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of voter records.

Final voter list to be published on 22 September 2026

After the completion of the revision process, the final updated voter list will be published on 22 September 2026. This list will be used for all upcoming elections in the state.
