The Haryana government is taking significant steps to strengthen its sports infrastructure across the state. In a recent review meeting of the sports department, Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam issued key directives aimed at improving facilities for athletes and accelerating ongoing projects.
A major announcement from the meeting was the construction of 21 new sports stadiums under the Haryana sports stadium initiative. These stadiums are expected to enhance training facilities and provide athletes with modern infrastructure to compete at higher levels.
The minister emphasized that the Haryana sports stadium project must be executed within strict timelines to ensure timely benefits for sportspersons. He instructed officials to ensure transparency and efficiency in all related development work.

A strong stance was also taken against fake sports nurseries operating in the state. The minister directed district sports officers to submit ground-level reports within 15 days so that strict action can be taken. This move is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the Haryana sports stadium development ecosystem and sports training structure.
In addition, two major initiatives—‘Khelo Haryana App’ and the ‘Player Insurance Scheme’—are set to be launched soon. These programs are expected to digitally empower athletes and provide financial security and support.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of developing synthetic tracks in every district. The government aims to ensure that the Haryana sports stadium initiative is complemented by world-class athletic infrastructure across all regions.
Officials were further instructed to ensure timely completion of all sports-related projects. The Haryana sports stadium plan is part of a broader vision to promote sports culture and position Haryana as a leading sports hub in the country.
