Haryana: State Election Commission is prepared for local elections

Haryana: State Election Commission is prepared for local elections

Haryana: Requests that DCs in 17 districts receive EVMs in a week.

Haryana: With the exception of Faridabad, Charkhi Dadri, Panipat, Panchkula, and Rewari, the State Election Commission (SEC) of Haryana has started organizing the elections for municipal councils and committees in 17 districts.

The number of polling places has been reevaluated by municipal council and committee officials in accordance with the new Wardbandi

In order to expedite the first-phase examination of the EVMs, the SEC has requested that Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of each of these districts instruct the officers in charge of municipal councils/committees in their respective areas to: (1) reevaluate the number of polling booths in accordance with the new Wardbandi; and (2) obtain additional EVMs and election materials as needed from its office within seven days.

It has also made it plain that the district in question will not be considered to be in need of more EVMs or election materials if the municipal councils or committees do not get them within the allotted period.

In that scenario, any future instances of “negligence” would be the officers in question’s responsibility.

It is suggested that in the near future, electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be used to conduct the elections for municipal councils and committees in their areas. According to the number of polling places determined by local bodies’ “old Wardbandi,” the SEC sent electronic voting machines and election materials in April. This information was contained in a communique that the SEC’s office sent to DCs of 17 districts on Tuesday.

The announcement goes on to say that more wards and polling places have been added as a result of the state government’s revision of the Wardbandi and reservation of municipal councils/committees. Therefore, we suggest that you ask the relevant MC officials to obtain more EVMs and poll materials as needed.

The polls at municipal committees in Julana (Jind), Indri and Nilokheri (Karnal), Kharkhoda (Sonepat), Adampur and Narnaud (Hisar), Loharu, Bawani Khera and Siwani (Bhiwani), Kalanaur (Rohtak), and Tauru (Nuh) are scheduled to take place in addition to the municipal council elections in Pataudi and Jatoli Mandi (Gurugram), Sirsa, Ambala Sadar, and Thanesar (Kurukshetra). In a similar vein, elections for municipal committees are scheduled in the following locations: Radaur (Yamunanagar), Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad), Hathin (Palwal), Farukkhnagar (Gurugram), Kalanwali (Sirsa), Ateli Mandi and Kanina (Mahendragarh), and Radaur (Yamunanagar).
