Haryana’s Minister of Industries & Commerce, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, paid tribute to the statue of the late Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, a founding member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a member of the Lok Sabha, at his office located in Sector-08, Ballabhgarh, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Haryana’s Minister of Industries & Commerce, said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, born on July 06, 1901, in a highly prestigious family in Calcutta, was a patriot who embodied the spirit of the nation. Many great personalities’ birth anniversaries are celebrated, but those fortunate souls whose supporters follow their ideology and realize their dreams are truly blessed. Mookerjee launched a movement with a slogan – “Ek desh mein do vidhan, do pradhan aur do nishan nahi chalenge (There cannot be two constitutions, two prime ministers and two flags in one nation)”. Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee raised his voice against the creation of a separate laws for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Mookerjee is foremost among those who vocally opposed Article 370 imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. He was a minister in independent India’s first cabinet who resigned over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Mookerjee dedicated his life to the unity and integrity of India.
