The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has received a significant update in international markets, introducing the 2024 model with significant improvements. Among the most noticeable changes is the increased battery capacity, which is a significant upgrade. Along with the update, Hyundai also added a new model called the N Line, which sits between the base model and the more expensive Ioniq 5. An improved electric car battery can provide a longer range. Although Hyundai Motor did not specify how long the new battery will last, it believes it will improve the car’s handling.

The Ioniq 5 received minor changes, mainly on the radiator grille, front and rear bumpers. The width, height and wheelbase of the electric vehicle are unchanged, but now 20 mm longer. As part of the facelift, the wheels were updated and a rear wiper was added for added comfort. The model of the Ioniq 5 N series deserves special attention, it is impressive with its more solid appearance. New to the updated Ioniq 5’s cabin are strategically placed physical buttons that provide quick access to features such as the heated steering wheel, park assist, heated and ventilated front row, and air conditioning. Notable upgrades include a relocated wireless charging port for easier access and an updated steering system with dynamic pixel lighting. In addition, the infotainment system can now receive over-the-air (OTA) updates. Body rigidity has been improved, the doors and B-pillars have been strengthened, and other safety improvements have been made.

The N-Line model adds a sporty and brand-specific look to the distinctive N emblem on the dashboard, upholstery and steering wheel. The metal pedals highlight the performance-oriented N-Line version even more.

Although Hyundai has confirmed that the updated Ioniq 5 will be equipped with a larger 84 kWh battery, the exact range of the updated electric vehicle (EV) is not yet known. With these improvements, driving performance is expected to improve significantly and significantly exceed the current model’s range of 631 km claimed by ARAI. Upgrades to the shock absorbers have helped reduce steering vibration, and Hyundai has fitted dual rear and body stiffeners to reduce noise and also use sound deadening to make the cabin quieter.

The launch of the facelift in India is yet to be announced by the Korean automaker, but it is expected to arrive soon. The current price of Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India is Rs 45.95 lakh.
