The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Dhenkanal, a leading media training institute in India, has opened admissions for the Post Graduate Diploma in Odia Journalism (PGDOJ) for the 2025-26 academic session. This one-year, full-time professional course focuses on journalism, media writing, reporting, editing, digital communication, and public relations, with a strong emphasis on the Odia language.
Prof. Anand Pradhan, Regional Director of IIMC Dhenkanal, announced that the application process will commence on March 3, 2025. Candidates can apply both online and offline, with the deadline for submission set for April 30, 2025. The entrance examination is scheduled for May 18, 2025, across five cities in Odisha—Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Berhampur, Sambalpur, and Balasore. The test will evaluate proficiency in Odia, writing skills, general knowledge, and journalism aptitude.
The programme offers 30 seats, with reservations for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates as per government norms. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, and final-year students may apply provided they submit their final mark sheets by September 30, 2025. The maximum age limit is 25 years for General category candidates, with relaxations for reserved categories.

The curriculum includes communication theory, reporting, editing, digital media, media laws and ethics, audio-visual production, development journalism, advertising, and PR. The programme features a mandatory one-month internship with reputed media organizations to provide hands-on industry experience. The total course fee is ₹55,500.
