Imtiaz Ali’s New Film – Cast, Plot, and Shooting Schedule
Following the success of Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali’s new film explores how the massive upheaval affected ordinary people — especially young lovers caught in the middle of history. Set in Punjab, the story follows a couple whose lives are torn apart by the violence and migration triggered by Partition.
Sharvari plays the female lead opposite Vedang, while Imtiaz Ali’s new film is also bringing in a couple more actresses to represent different generations impacted by the events. Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah adds even more weight to the cast.
Behind the scenes, costume designer Sheetal Sharma, who worked with Imtiaz on Amar Singh Chamkila, is helping bring the 1940s to life authentically. Both Vedang and Sharvari recently completed look tests as pre-production advances, with filming expected to begin in August.
