Delhi has taken a landmark step toward modernizing government education with the launch of the country’s first AI-powered comprehensive education model. The initiative, inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at CM Shri School in Sarojini Nagar, aims to prepare students for global competition through advanced technology-enabled learning.
CM Shri Schools: A Vision for Global Competitiveness
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that CM Shri Schools are not just new school buildings but represent a vision to prepare Delhi’s students for the global stage. These schools will feature AI-enabled smart classrooms, interactive boards, personalized learning systems, and digital content. By March 31, the government aims to convert 7,000 classrooms across Delhi into fully smart classrooms.
Centers of Excellence Across 75 Schools
Alongside the inauguration, the foundation for 75 CM Shri Schools was laid across Delhi, which will serve as Centers of Excellence. These schools will provide facilities on par with private institutions, benefiting underprivileged, middle-class, and general category students alike.

The schools will also focus on mental health, moral education, and personality development through “Science of Living” spaces. Multilingual education and foreign language training will connect students with international universities and industries. For the first time, mandatory industry internships will be introduced in government schools.
Equal Access to Digital and Technology-Enabled Education
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasized that digital and AI-enabled education will now be accessible uniformly across all government schools in Delhi. This initiative is not limited to improving exam results but aims to prepare students for IITs, medical colleges, global universities, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
