Monitoring and Alerts: Platforms are required to notify users every three months about the consequences of sharing misleading or harmful AI content.
Rapid Response: Platforms must remove flagged content within 3 hours, significantly faster than the previous 36-hour timeframe. Content involving violence or child exploitation must be addressed within 12 hours.
Prohibited Content Under New AI Rules
The Indian government has also clarified strict prohibitions for AI-generated content, including:
Child pornography and sexual content involving minors
Fake documents or electronic records
Content promoting weapons or ammunition
Deepfake images or videos intended to harm or deceive
