Karan Johar’s recent weight loss has sparked intense speculation, with many wondering if the director used popular weight-loss drugs like Ozempic. However, in a candid conversation with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Karan cleared the air, revealing that no such medications were part of his transformation.

“I have always been battling the bulge,” Karan shared, recounting his long-standing struggle with weight management. Despite trying numerous diets and workout routines over the years, it wasn’t until he underwent blood tests that he discovered a key health issue—thyroid problems—that needed to be addressed.
The rumors surrounding his weight loss journey frustrated Karan Johar, especially the constant question, “Are you on Mounjaro? Are you on Ozempic?” He expressed his exhaustion with the public’s assumptions, stating, “People don’t know my truth. You don’t know.”
For Karan Johar, the transformation was about improving his health, not relying on quick fixes. He added, “I’ve never felt lighter, never felt better. I’ve never, ever felt more confident in my own skin.” However, he also acknowledged the ongoing challenge of body dysmorphia, a condition where one feels discomfort with their appearance. “After 52 years, I finally feel confident, but I still go through body image issues,” he admitted, offering a glimpse into the emotional complexity of his journey.
Karan’s openness underscores the significance of mental well-being and self-acceptance alongside physical change. His story highlights the importance of understanding the personal battles behind transformation.
