Isudan Gadhvi visits Dwarka villages during the second phase of the Drought Declaration Satyagraha, seeking drought relief and support for affected farmers.
Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat president and farmer leader Isudan Gadhvi visited villages in Devbhumi Dwarka as part of the second phase of the Drought Declaration Satyagraha. The campaign is aimed at highlighting farmers’ demand for drought status and government relief in affected areas of Gujarat.
Gadhvi visited Gunda village, where he met local residents and farmers. He said hundreds of people gathered after learning about his visit and the campaign seeking an official drought declaration.
Farmers Fill Forms Seeking Drought Declaration
During his visit, Isudan Gadhvi also participated in filling out forms related to the demand for declaring the affected areas drought-hit. He said farmers were voluntarily coming forward to submit their details and support the demand for government assistance.
According to Gadhvi, the Drought Declaration Satyagraha is being expanded across Gujarat to ensure that the concerns of farmers reach the government directly.
Teams to Visit Villages Across 158 Talukas
Gadhvi said the second phase of the campaign will cover 158 talukas across the state. Teams comprising around 100 people in each taluka will visit villages and interact with farmers as part of the ongoing campaign.

The programme is scheduled to continue until October 1. During this period, volunteers will collect forms from farmers seeking drought declarations and highlight the difficulties being faced by agricultural communities in affected regions.
Farmers to Take Forms to Gandhinagar on October 2
The next major phase of the Drought Declaration Satyagraha is planned for October 2. Gadhvi said farmers will accompany the campaign to Gandhinagar, where the collected forms will be submitted to the Chief Minister.
The forms, according to Gadhvi, will represent the demands raised directly by farmers and will be presented as evidence of the need for drought relief measures.
Relief Sought for Affected Regions
Gadhvi said several areas of Jamnagar, Dwarka and Porbandar, along with parts of Kutch, North Gujarat and Saurashtra, are facing difficulties that require government attention.
The demand is for the government to officially declare affected areas drought-hit and provide financial relief and other assistance to farmers whose livelihoods have been impacted.
Movement to Continue Until Government Action
The Drought Declaration Satyagraha is expected to continue until the government responds to the demand for immediate relief, according to Gadhvi.
The campaign’s second phase is focused on taking the issue directly to villages and documenting farmers’ demands through forms. With the proposed submission of these forms in Gandhinagar on October 2, attention will now be on the government’s response and whether any relief measures are announced for the affected farming communities.
The Drought Declaration Satyagraha therefore marks an intensified effort by the Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat unit to raise the issue of drought declaration and financial assistance for farmers across the affected regions.
