AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi slams BJP government over rising petrol and diesel prices, calling it a major burden on common people amid inflation concerns.
According to AAP Gujarat president Isudan Gadhvi, petrol prices have once again crossed the ₹100 mark, triggering strong criticism of the BJP government over rising fuel costs and inflation pressures across the country.
Gadhvi said that petrol and diesel prices have increased almost every morning, and in the last 11 days alone, fuel prices have risen by nearly ₹7.50. He alleged that this continuous rise in petrol price hike is putting heavy financial pressure on common citizens.
Highlighting past comparisons, Isudan Gadhvi stated that when the current central government came to power, petrol was priced around ₹62 per litre and the rupee value was also stronger. Today, he said, the situation has changed drastically as petrol price hike has pushed fuel beyond ₹100, along with a weakening rupee against the dollar.

He further claimed that earlier even a ₹1 increase in fuel prices used to trigger nationwide protests, but now even sharp increases of ₹7–₹8 are going without strong public resistance. According to him, the environment has been created in a way that discourages people from raising their voices against petrol price hike and rising inflation.
Gadhvi also warned that rising fuel costs are directly impacting essential commodities, leading to a broader inflation burden. He said that transport costs have increased, resulting in higher prices of vegetables and daily essentials, making household budgets difficult to manage. This continuous petrol price hike is, according to him, worsening the economic condition of middle-class families.
The AAP leader further pointed out that international crude oil prices have been falling, yet India is witnessing a steady petrol price hike. He also mentioned Russia’s willingness to supply cheaper oil, questioning why consumers are not benefiting from lower global prices.
Isudan Gadhvi appealed to the people of Gujarat, stating that citizens must become aware and demand accountability. He said that inflation control is not just a political issue but a public concern, and repeated petrol price hike trends must be questioned by society collectively.
He concluded by saying that regardless of political affiliation, people must “wake up” and raise their voice against rising inflation, as no one else will fight this battle on their behalf.
