Speaking on the Sorry We’re Stoned podcast with her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus, Miley recalled, “Dad was smoking pot and everyone blamed me for it. It’s hilarious. He wasn’t sharing because Tish wasn’t toking yet.” The pop star shared the anecdote when asked about her favourite memory from the iconic Disney Channel show.
Tish admitted she had originally suspected someone else. “They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was like, ‘Absolutely not, he would never do that. It’s Mitchel Musso!’” To which Miley replied, “Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.”
Premiering in 2006, Hannah Montana launched Miley Cyrus into global stardom, following the story of a teenager living a double life as a schoolgirl and secret pop star. The show became a defining part of 2000s youth culture and made both Miley and her real-life father household names.
Miley’s light-hearted revelation adds a new layer to the show’s nostalgic legacy, showing that even behind the glitter and songs, things were far from ordinary.
