The men’s singles final at the US Open 2025 is all set, with world number two Carlos Alcaraz taking on Jannik Sinner in a highly anticipated showdown at Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 7.
Earlier, in the second semi-final, Jannik Sinner faced Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime ,The Italian started strong, clinching the opening set 6-1. Though he stumbled in the second, losing 3-6, Sinner bounced back to secure the next two sets 6-3 and 6-4, booking his place in a fourth Grand Slam final this season. Remarkably, he now joins an elite list as only the fourth player in history to reach all four Grand Slam finals in a single year.
Aliassime became just the second player to take a set off Sinner during this US Open run. Despite putting up a commendable fight, the Canadian was unable to withstand Sinner’s relentless consistency and precision.
With this win, the Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry heads into its third Grand Slam final of 2025. Their previous two encounters saw Alcaraz triumph at the French Open, while Sinner claimed victory at Wimbledon. The US Open final now promises to be the ultimate decider of the season’s major battles.
Sinner on reaching another Grand Slam final
Reflecting on his victory, Sinner expressed his joy at making yet another big-stage appearance while also acknowledging Aliassime’s effort.
“It’s been an incredible season. Grand Slams are the most important tournaments we play, and to find myself in another final, especially the last one of the year, with such an amazing crowd—it doesn’t get any better,” Sinner said after the match.
