Lalu Prasad Yadav
Former MP Lalu Prasad Yadav, who served in Manmohan Singh’s Union Cabinet, expressed his displeasure at the talk of BJP leaders amending the Constitution.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, the president of the RJD, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for not doing enough to silence BJP leaders who threatened to enact a new Constitution if their party secured a two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha. Lalu also attacked PM Modi for saying, “The Constitution, framed by the Dalit icon Baba Saheb Ambedkar, holds a special place in the hearts of the impoverished and marginalized sections of society, and those who cast a malevolent glance on it will have their eyes gouged out” .
AFTER LOSING OUT ON A BJP TICKET, ASHWINI CHOUBEY SAID, “IT HURTS… HINT OF A CONSPIRACY.”
“In reality, the PM is afraid. He fears a loss because he is vulnerable in front of the country. The former chief minister of Bihar was quoted by news agency PTI as stating, “To hide his fear, he is boasting of 370+ seats for the BJP.”
Former MP Lalu Prasad Yadav, who served in Manmohan Singh’s Union Cabinet, expressed his dissatisfaction over the fact that while numerous BJP leaders have talked about changing the Constitution, there hasn’t been any “karvayi” (action) taken against them, and some of them have even been allegedly fielded by the party.
Notably, the outbursts of Prasad—who is currently free on bail after being found guilty in several fodder scam cases—occur in the context of a comment made by Lallu Singh, the sitting MP for Ayodhya, who later withdrew it, claiming it was a slip of the tongue. Previous statements made by BJP candidates Jyoti Mirdha in Rajasthan and Anant Hegde, the party’s MP for Karnataka, were similar.
Babasaheb Ambedkar left the Constitution as a bequest to the underprivileged and downtrodden sections. Any attempts at fiddling will not be tolerated,” stated Prasad. Lalu went on to say, “Anybody who casts a malevolent glance on the Constitution will have his eyes gouged out (janta aankh nikaal legi)” .
The leader of the RJD, Ritesh Kumar, took a swipe at his longtime rival, Bihar’s Chief Minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who was made fun of for his embarrassing blunder at a prime ministerial rally when he said the NDA would receive 4,000 votes. A few days later, he made the same error again, but this time he apologized to Prasad, referring to another rally that the leader of the JD(U) had addressed in Nawada.
