Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Keiichi Ono at his official residence today. During the meeting, the two sides had fruitful discussions on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as technical cooperation, investment, skill development and tourism.
The Ambassador complimented the Chief Minister for the positive change and development work done in Uttar Pradesh in the last eight years. He said that Japanese companies consider Uttar Pradesh as a safe and reliable state for investment.
High-level delegation to visit Japan
It was decided in the meeting that a high-level delegation of the Uttar Pradesh government would soon visit Japan to explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen, electronics and especially semiconductor technology. Besides, the state delegation will also participate in the World Expo to be held in Osaka in the last week of July.
UP welcomes Japanese investment
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state government wholeheartedly welcomes Japan’s investment and technological partnership in areas like green energy, semiconductors and electronics. He also said that the government is ready to adopt other modern models of urban mobility including metro.
International opportunities for young people
Laying special emphasis on the skill development of the youth, the Chief Minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government in collaboration with Japan will train the youth in such a way that they can get employment opportunities in countries like Japan.
Deeper cooperation in the field of tourism
The two sides also agreed to step up joint efforts in the field of tourism. The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is a hub of historical places associated with Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religion, which can also become a major center of attraction for Japanese tourists.
Ambassador lauds UP
The Japanese Ambassador praised Uttar Pradesh’s better law and order, robust infrastructure, road-rail network and air connectivity and said that the state is now becoming the primary choice of global investors.
Good omen: Agree to formalize cooperation
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to formalize mutual cooperation and prepare a concrete action plan.
