The Jodhpur Municipal Corporation Election 2026 concluded peacefully on Friday, with more than five lakh voters exercising their franchise across all 100 wards of the city. According to the final figures released by the District Election Office, 5,12,410 voters cast their ballots out of a total electorate of 7,12,164, taking the final voter turnout to 71.95%.
Voting began at 7 am and continued until the scheduled closing time. With polling completed, the electoral fate of candidates contesting from all 100 wards has now been sealed in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The results will be declared on September 14.
Polling crossed 70% as voting progressed
The Jodhpur Municipal Corporation Election 2026 witnessed steady voter participation throughout the day. In the first few hours, 1,42,252 voters had already exercised their franchise by 10 am, recording a turnout of 19.97%.
By 1 pm, the number of voters had increased to 3,09,848, pushing the turnout to 43.51%. At 3 pm, a total of 4,01,822 voters had cast their ballots, taking the percentage to 56.42%.
By 6 pm, 5,06,340 voters had participated in the election. After the final figures were compiled, the total number of votes polled reached 5,12,410, resulting in an overall turnout of 71.95%.
EVMs deposited at Polytechnic College
After polling ended, the process of collecting and depositing EVMs continued late into the night. Election officials and polling teams began reaching the designated collection centre at the Polytechnic College from around 7 pm.
Special arrangements had been made at the college to facilitate the smooth submission of EVMs and other election-related material. The arrangements helped polling teams complete the process without major difficulties.

BJP begins candidate camp strategy
