The latest headline in Time magazine has a reference to Taylor Swift’s ‘London Boy‘ album by Joe Alwyn.
The Sunday Times Style created a commotion online on Friday, June 14, when it posted the cover of its upcoming issue to Instagram. Joe Alwyn, 33, is depicted in close-up on the cover wearing a sweater with a blue collar. The title reads, “London Boy: What Joe Alwyn Did Next.”
Has Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn forged another “Invisible String”?
Readers speculated in the comment section about whether the Kinds of Kindness actor was aware of the headline’s apparent reference to Taylor Swift’s song “London Boy” from her 2019 album “Lover.” This headline quickly aroused curiosity. During the height of their romance, two years after Swift, 34, and Alwyn were first connected, this record was released.
With lines like “But somethin’ happened, I heard him laughin’ / I saw the dimples first and then I heard the accent,” Swift enumerates the qualities she adores in a London boy.
Early in April 2023, Swift and Alwyn’s six-year romance came to an end.
TTPD Swift also alluded to a London connection.
But as keen-eyed fans dug into Swift’s most recent album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” they surmised that the song “So Long London” was a reference to Alwyn. These suspicions were reinforced by the title and lyrics, which reference living in London.
Swift sings, “I stopped trying to make him laugh / Stopped trying to drill the safe,” in the song “TTPD.” She then makes reference to “the house in the Heath” that she left behind.
Swift alluded to the song’s message of attempting to salvage a failing relationship and overcoming loneliness in her Time cover interview from December 2023.
“Life is not long. Go on adventures. I’ll never get the years I spent shutting myself up in my house back. Swift said to Time, “I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”
According to earlier reports from People, Alwyn wished for his relationship with Swift to be “his own personal story.”
Swift is presently enjoying her romance with Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, though. Swift went into more detail about how their relationship has changed after going public in an interview with Time. “When you say a relationship is public, it means that I get to watch him do what he loves, we support each other, and we don’t give a damn about other people,” she remarked.
On the other hand, you have to do a great deal of effort to ensure that nobody finds out that you’re seeing someone. We simply take pride in one another.
