Juhi Chawla added that she became a vegetarian during the nearly two years of her marriage to Jay Mehta.
Juhi Chawla talked about her pre-marriage cry with Jay Mehta and how her mother-in-law consoled her. Juhi stated she couldn’t be pleased even on her wedding day because her mother had passed away a year prior to the event, which was organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Juhi remembered how Jay’s mother persuaded the family to postpone the lavish wedding. The actor revealed that the number of wedding invitees was significantly reduced.
Before her wedding, Juhi sobbed because she missed her mother.
Juhi stated, “I was supposed to get married and I was filming some of the biggest movies of my career.” A year has gone since my mother’s death. As the wedding day approached, I thought that since my mother, the person I loved the most, was dying, my career would also soon come to an end. I was at a loss for how to be glad about it. Upon breaking down one day, I confided in my mother-in-law, to whom I said, “It’s okay.” Could you picture your mother-in-law taking care of it for you?
When Juhi’s mother-in-law showed up without warning
“Invitations had gone out to maybe 2000 people,” she continued. ‘Abhi nahi horahi hai (It’s not occurring now)’ was her statement. I was married, but it was small-scale, at home, with only my closest friends and family present since she persuaded the family not to do the grand wedding. Thus, the wedding was completed with merely 80–90–100 guests. Say your mother-in-law decided to revoke the invitations that were sent out globally. I was consuming chicken as a Punjabi. Of course, that altered after a year or two. Jay converted me to vegetarianism.”
