AAP leader Dr Karan Barot raises salary, appointment and transfer issues of Dial 112 Janrakshak pilots in Gujarat and seeks fair treatment from the government.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat state organisation secretary and state chief spokesperson Dr Karan Barot has raised concerns over the working conditions, salaries and appointment-related issues allegedly faced by Dial 112 Janrakshak pilots across Gujarat.
Addressing a press conference, Barot said these pilots play an important role in the emergency response system by driving police vehicles and helping police teams reach people during critical situations. He argued that personnel performing such responsibilities should receive fair wages and timely employment-related support.
AAP Demands Fair Salary for 112 Janrakshak Pilots
According to Dr Karan Barot, the primary demand of the Dial 112 Janrakshak pilots is a reasonable salary that allows them to meet their basic household expenses.
He claimed that the pilots previously worked for around 12 hours a day and received approximately ₹20,000 per month. After the duty period was reduced to eight hours, Barot alleged that their monthly income was brought down to around ₹14,000.
The AAP leader questioned whether employees can comfortably support their families with such limited earnings, particularly when they are performing emergency-response duties.
Appointment Delays Allegedly Affect Selected Candidates
Barot also highlighted what he described as delays between the selection of candidates and the issuance of their appointment orders.
He alleged that selected candidates sometimes have to wait six to eight months before receiving their orders. During this period, according to his claim, they remain without employment and may face financial difficulties.
The AAP leader further claimed that more than 1,200 selected pilots had previously faced lengthy delays in receiving appointment orders. He said he had raised the issue with the government earlier as well.
Questions Over Salary Deductions
Dr Karan Barot also questioned the manner in which salary payments were allegedly adjusted for some pilots.
He claimed that an increased amount was deposited into the pilots’ accounts for June without prior information and that an amount was subsequently deducted from the July salary as an adjustment. According to Barot, such deductions created additional financial pressure for workers already earning limited salaries.
He urged the authorities to clarify the salary structure and ensure transparency in payments.

Transfer-Related Problems Also Raised
The AAP spokesperson said Dial 112 pilots also face difficulties when they are transferred from one location to another.
He alleged that delays in providing vehicles after transfers can leave pilots without work for extended periods. Barot also raised concerns about candidates allegedly being charged around ₹12,000 for training while facing delays in being formally placed on duty.
He called for a system that ensures trained and selected pilots can begin their work without unnecessary delays.
‘Janrakshak Pilots Serve People Around the Clock’
Barot said Dial 112 pilots are an important part of the emergency policing mechanism and assist in ensuring that police vehicles reach people during difficult situations.
He emphasised that these workers are not seeking special favours from the government but are asking for fair treatment, adequate wages and timely employment support.
AAP Calls for Direct Dialogue With Pilots
The AAP leader urged the Gujarat government to hold a direct dialogue with Dial 112 Janrakshak pilots and understand their concerns.
He said that just as the government organises youth and Gen-Z interaction programmes, similar discussions should be held with the young people working under the Dial 112 service.
Barot called for a permanent solution to salary, appointment and transfer-related concerns and said the Aam Aadmi Party would continue to raise the issue on behalf of the affected pilots.
He maintained that ensuring fair working conditions for emergency-service personnel is essential because those responsible for assisting citizens during emergencies also deserve adequate economic security.
