Karan Johar doesn’t mince his words. He spoke about the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal and the controversy it sparked after its release.
Karan Johar attended the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2024. The filmmaker has talked about it a lot of things. Last year Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie Animal became the biggest hit and courted controversy. Many celebrities praised the film and many people, including some celebrities, praised Animal. At the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2024, Karan Johar also took part in a discussion about the film with Tripti Dimri and Rashmika Mandana.

The director of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani shocked his fans by admitting that the film touched, fascinated and excited him like no other. People have a lot to say about animals, both for and against, he said. Karan Johar also said that Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also had a lot to say about the film. Sharing his thoughts about the film, Karan said that he considers the film to be a character-based film. He described RK’s character as deeply dysfunctional, violent and full of emotional problems. And he really liked the approach of the film.
Karan Johar says he loves animals as a director
Karan admits that he did not deep dive and dissect the movie as others. He let the story ramble and didn’t talk about the moral context. He praised director Sandeep’s way of telling the story through background music, sound, screenplay, dialogues and characterization and said, “As a filmmaker, I really loved it.” Karan shared that people have contacted him and shared their thoughts about Animal and whether they agreed with his opinion or not. He just accepts all reactions to a thing.
Talking about animals, the film earned Rs 900 crore at the box office. Apart from Ranbir, Tripti Dimri and Rashmika Mandhana, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Suresh Oberoi.
