Keanu Reeves Trips on Set… and It Might Be the Best Scene in Aziz Ansari’s Film
After a rocky few years, Aziz Ansari is back in the director’s chair with Good Fortune — and he’s bringing along two of Hollywood’s big names: Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. But not even angels are safe from accidents.

Several weeks into filming Good Fortune, a scene meant to be light-hearted turned unexpectedly intense when Keanu Reeves, playing a clumsy low-ranking angel, tripped mid-shoot — and ended up cracking his kneecap “like a potato chip.”
The accident happened during a scene where Reeves, Ansari, and Rogen bounce between a hot sauna and a freezing cold plunge — a metaphorical (and literal) reset. But Reeves’ foot caught on uneven flooring, sending him tumbling. Despite the painful injury and visible bleeding, he insisted on finishing the scene and kept filming for the rest of the shoot.
About the Film
Good Fortune is Ansari’s official feature directorial debut, following the halt of his previous film Being Mortal. In this new comedy, Ansari plays a struggling L.A. gig worker whose life is magically swapped with that of a wealthy tech CEO (played by Seth Rogen) — all thanks to a well-meaning but bumbling guardian angel (Reeves).
