Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a meeting to discuss the growing E20 petrol issue and concerns raised by consumers regarding ethanol-blended fuel.
Kejriwal urged the central government to provide customers with an option between regular petrol and E20 petrol at petrol pumps. He also demanded a reduction in the price of E20 petrol, citing concerns related to mileage and fuel efficiency.
Kejriwal Demands Fuel Choice for Consumers
In his letter, Kejriwal said that petrol stations should allow customers to choose the type of fuel they want to purchase.
“If someone wants pure petrol, they should get that option and those wanting E20 should also have that choice,” he said.
He added that the decision to raise the E20 petrol issue came after interacting with people and understanding their concerns about the impact of ethanol-blended fuel on vehicles and expenses.
AAP Highlights Mileage and Pricing Concerns
Kejriwal said that E20 petrol provides lower mileage compared to traditional petrol and argued that the price of ethanol-blended fuel should be reduced to reflect its performance.

He said consumers should not face additional financial pressure due to fuel changes and called for a detailed discussion with the government.
The AAP chief also mentioned that the party has started an online petition to collect public feedback on the E20 petrol issue, especially regarding mileage, vehicle performance and consumer experiences.
AAP Launches Public Feedback Campaign
The Aam Aadmi Party has appealed to citizens and party workers to visit petrol pumps and service centres, interact with consumers and share their views through social media.
The party said the collected responses will be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the proposed meeting with Kejriwal.
Kejriwal Seeks Dialogue With Government Over E20 Petrol Issue
Kejriwal expressed hope that the Prime Minister would provide an appointment soon so that the concerns of consumers can be discussed.
He said the meeting would focus on technical aspects of ethanol-blended fuel and suggestions received from the public.
The E20 petrol issue has become a topic of discussion among consumers, political leaders and automobile users as debates continue over fuel efficiency, pricing and consumer choice.
