Kesari Chapter 2 Worldwide Collection: Enters Top 10 Hindi Films of 2025
Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 is gradually picking up pace at the box office. After a rather underwhelming start, the film saw some growth over its opening weekend and is now on the verge of crossing the ₹50 crore mark worldwide.
₹49.75 Crore in Three Days
According to early estimates, Kesari Chapter 2 has collected ₹29.50 crore net in India, with a gross of ₹35.25 crore. Overseas, the historical courtroom drama managed ₹14.50 crore, taking the worldwide total to ₹49.75 crore at the end of its third day.
While these numbers aren’t spectacular, they indicate slow but steady traction, especially considering the competitive landscape of 2025 releases. The film has already overtaken John Abraham’s The Diplomat, which closed with a global total of ₹48.10 crore.
Sixth Highest Hindi Grosser of 2025 So Far
With its current numbers, Kesari Chapter 2 now ranks as the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. It is expected to move up one spot by the end of Monday, overtaking Shahid Kapoor’s Deva on the chart. The next milestones include Jaat starring Sunny Deol (₹92 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s own Sky Force (₹149 crore). However, much will depend on how well the film holds up on weekdays.
Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan Lead a Powerful Cast
The film features Akshay Kumar as C Sankaran Nair, a prominent lawyer who challenged the British government over the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. R Madhavan joins the ensemble in a pivotal role, with Ananya Panday also featuring in a supporting part.
The storyline, which blends history with courtroom drama, has received praise for its unique subject, though the execution has seen mixed reviews. Directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi, the film marks his first major feature and is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films.
Despite the heavy promotional campaign and a star-led cast, Kesari Chapter 2 opened to modest numbers on Day 1. However, the growth over the weekend, though not massive, suggests positive word-of-mouth is gradually influencing ticket sales.
The film’s performance overseas has also contributed significantly to its overall numbers. The ₹14.50 crore international gross highlights the consistent appeal of Akshay Kumar in global markets, particularly in the UAE, UK, and North America.
If it crosses the ₹75 crore mark globally by the end of its first week, the film will be considered a moderate success. Anything beyond ₹100 crore would solidify it as a box office win for Akshay Kumar and the makers.
