Krrish 4 Delayed! ₹700 Crore Budget Causes Setbacks in Production

The popular Bollywood superhero sequel Krrish 4 has faced some challenges that have resulted in delays and changes in its production. The Krrish franchise, known for its grand visuals and Hrithik Roshan’s epic performance, has consistently been a crowd favorite since the release of the first film in 2006.

Rakesh Roshan, who has directed every installment in the Krrish franchise, shared his thoughts on his decision to move on from the director’s chair. In his statement, Roshan conveyed that while he had no regrets about his departure, it was time for him to pass on the responsibility to a new generation of filmmakers. “I believe that it is important for the series to evolve, and in order to do so, we need to allow new creative minds to take the reins,” said Rakesh Roshan. He acknowledged that while he may not be directing the film, his guidance would remain instrumental in shaping the direction of Krrish 4.

This announcement comes at a time when the Krrish franchise is facing a range of challenges. The series, which began in 2006 with the release of Koi… Mil Gaya and introduced the world to Hrithik Roshan’s superhero persona, has become one of the most successful film franchises in Indian cinema. However, with rising production costs, evolving audience preferences, and the increasing expectations surrounding Krrish 4, Rakesh Roshan’s decision to step down shows how the film industry is evolving.

Krrish 4: Budget Concerns and Delays

The primary hurdle currently facing Krrish 4 is its hefty production budget. Initial estimates suggested that the budget could be as high as 700 crores, making it one of the most expensive films to be made in India. Such a massive budget, however, has raised alarms among production houses. With the global success of Marvel and DC films, the expectations for Krrish 4 are sky-high, and the stakes have only grown higher.

This substantial financial burden has caused delays in the production schedule, as the filmmakers struggle to secure the necessary resources to bring their ambitious vision to life. While Krrish 4 was originally expected to begin production at a faster pace, these budgetary concerns have pushed back its timeline, leaving many fans wondering when they will finally see the next installment of the franchise.

Another factor contributing to the delays is the sudden departure of key personnel involved in the film’s creation. Director Siddharth Anand, known for his successful directorial ventures like War and Pathaan, was initially tapped to direct Krrish 4. His production company, Marflix, was also associated with the project. However, reports recently surfaced indicating that both Anand and his production company had withdrawn from the project due to the ongoing budget concerns and the complexities surrounding the production.

Further complicating matters, director Karan Malhotra, who was originally supposed to take over the helm of Krrish 4, also decided to exit the project. With two directors stepping away from the film, Krrish 4 has faced a crisis in terms of creative leadership. This change in direction has led to uncertainty among the film’s production team, as the search for a new director and creative team continues.

Rakesh Roshan, the mastermind behind the Krrish franchise, who has directed all the previous installments, also made a significant announcement that has left many fans questioning the future of the film. Rakesh Roshan, despite being integral to the franchise’s success, revealed that he would not be directing Krrish 4 as initially planned. He explained that it was time for him to “pass on the baton” to a new director. Rakesh Roshan’s involvement in the film will likely still continue, but he will now focus more on overseeing the project rather than directly directing it.
