Krystle D’Souza reacts to reports of Tamannaah Bhatia being considered for Dhurandhar’s song ‘Shararat’, emphasizing women should uplift each other.
Krystle D’Souza has addressed the recent buzz surrounding Tamannaah Bhatia and the popular dance number ‘Shararat’ from the film Dhurandhar. Social media erupted after reports suggested that Tamannaah Bhatia was initially considered for the Jasmine Sandlas and Madhubanti Bagchi song, sparking widespread speculation and online debates.
Krystle D’Souza Speaks Up
In an exclusive interview with Freepress Journal, Krystle D’Souza expressed her thoughts on the controversy, emphasizing the importance of supporting fellow women rather than creating rivalry. She said, “I genuinely feel Tamannaah would have killed the song in her own style. She would have owned it, and honestly, anyone in her position would have delivered brilliantly. Whether approached or not, she would have done justice to it. Even if Ayesha or I were performing alone, we would have given our best. Everyone brings something unique to the table.”

Krystle also addressed the broader culture of pitting women against each other in the entertainment industry. “To lift someone up, you don’t need to bring others down. There’s enough space for everyone to shine. Hardworking and self-made individuals deserve recognition, and no one should be undermined,” she added.
Shararat in Dhurandhar
‘Shararat’ is a visually striking dance number from Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar, performed by Krystle D’Souza and Ayesha Khan. The song was a key sequence in the movie, blending high-energy choreography with a pivotal moment in the story.
Tamannaah Bhatia’s Connection
Earlier reports suggested that Tamannaah Bhatia was the first choice for ‘Shararat’. Choreographer Vijay Ganguly later clarified that the actress was never formally rejected; in fact, she was never seriously under consideration. Speaking to Filmygyan, Vijay explained that the director, Aditya Dhar, decided that two performers were better suited for the song to maintain the narrative’s focus and intensity. “Tamannaah’s star power is immense, and it could have overshadowed the scene. The choice was always about protecting the film’s storyline and keeping the song aligned with the scene’s tension,” Vijay said.
