Lal Chand Kataruchak reviews wheat procurement in Sri Fatehgarh Sahib mandi, ensuring ₹1818 crore payment to farmers and smooth grain purchase process in Punjab.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak visited the grain market in Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to review the ongoing wheat procurement system. During his visit, Lal Chand Kataruchak closely examined procurement operations and issued instructions to ensure timely payments to farmers across the state.
The visit was conducted as part of the government’s continuous monitoring of procurement activities under the Lal Chand Kataruchak led oversight process.
Wheat Procurement Gaining Strong Momentum
While addressing officials, Lal Chand Kataruchak stated that wheat procurement is progressing at a rapid pace in all mandis of Punjab. He informed that around 39 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in state mandis so far, out of which 34 lakh metric tonnes have already been successfully procured.
The Lal Chand Kataruchak inspection highlighted the efficiency of the ongoing procurement drive and the government’s focus on smooth operations.

₹1818 Crore Paid Directly to Farmers
A major highlight of the review was the timely payment to farmers. According to Lal Chand Kataruchak, an amount of ₹1818 crore has already been transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts.
The Lal Chand Kataruchak initiative ensures financial relief for farmers, strengthening their trust in the procurement system and reducing payment delays significantly.

During the mandi visit, Lal Chand Kataruchak directed officials to avoid any delays in procurement operations. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that farmers receive fair prices for their produce without any disruption.
