Rajasthan to launch its first green automobile plant for electric bus manufacturing in Ghiloth Industrial Area, boosting e-mobility, job creation, and sustainable transport.
Rajasthan is set to make a significant leap in green energy and e-mobility with the establishment of the state’s first electric bus manufacturing plant in the Ghiloth Industrial Area, located in Kotputli-Behror district. This milestone project is poised to not only boost Rajasthan’s industrial strength but also generate substantial employment opportunities for thousands of youth.
The Rajasthan government has allocated 65.56 acres of land to the private-sector leader PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. This project is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. With an initial investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore, the plant aims to establish Rajasthan’s robust presence in India’s burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) industry.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described this initiative as a historic step toward the state’s industrial advancement. He stated, “This endeavor will accelerate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Green India’ vision.”
The CM further emphasized that Rajasthan is carving a new identity in both industrial development and green transportation. “This plant will not only be a production hub but also a center for skill development among the youth,” he added.
The launch of electric buses is expected to improve urban transport systems significantly while promoting the use of green energy throughout the state. The new facility at Ghiloth will manufacture not only e-buses but also their entire supply chain components, including bus bodies, motors, batteries, wire harnesses, and other spare parts.
This project positions Rajasthan to move beyond merely bus manufacturing, steering the state toward self-reliance in the electric vehicle manufacturing sector. Chief Minister Sharma also announced that specialized training programs will be provided to the youth to equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in the fast-growing electro-mobility sector.
The plant’s operations will offer technical and skill development training to local youth, strengthening Rajasthan’s industrial framework. Already a leader in solar energy production, Rajasthan is now on track to become a major hub for electric vehicle manufacturing.

The production and operation of e-buses will help reduce the state’s carbon footprint, further advancing environmental conservation efforts. Satish Kumar Jain, Managing Director of PMI Electro Mobility Solutions, praised Rajasthan’s industrial policies and government vision as highly conducive to investment, calling the project a milestone for the company.
CEO Dr. Aanchal Jain added, “Our goal is to make Rajasthan a leading state in the field of e-mobility.”
Regions like Neemrana and Ghiloth, already renowned for industrial growth, are expected to emerge as the green industrial corridor of Northern India with this project. The area’s proximity to the Jaipur-Delhi highway also makes it a logistic advantage.
From e-bus manufacturing to supply chain development, the project will create numerous employment and small business opportunities at various levels. Experts predict a significant expansion of Rajasthan’s e-vehicle, battery assembly, and charging infrastructure networks in the coming years.
The state government aims to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs through this ambitious green automobile initiative, marking a new era of sustainable industrial progress in Rajasthan.
