CM Flying Squad checks newly built roads in Patiala and Gurdaspur as the Bhagwant Mann government enforces strict quality control across Punjab.
In a major push toward transforming Punjab’s infrastructure, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is executing a historic road project aimed at making travel safer, smoother, and more efficient for the public. Emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy toward sub-standard work, the administration has intensified strict quality checks on all ongoing and newly completed road projects across the state. As part of this rigorous quality-control drive, the Chief CM Flying Squad recently conducted surprise inspections of newly constructed roads in key regions, including Rajpura and Patran in the Patiala district, as well as Fatehgarh Churian in the Gurdaspur district.
The special operations by the CM Flying Squad underscore the Mann government’s commitment to transparency and public accountability. During these field operations, team experts and technical wings collected material samples directly from the newly laid roads to test their durability, bitumen thickness, and strict adherence to prescribed safety and construction standards. Senior officials stated that the government is fully committed to providing world-class, durable roads to the people of Punjab, ensuring every penny of taxpayers’ money is utilized honestly and no compromise on construction materials is tolerated.

During the inspection drive, core samples of asphalt and concrete were secured for laboratory testing to verify long-term structural integrity. These simultaneous checks across both the Malwa and Majha regions allowed authorities to cross-check road dimensions and structural parameters directly with the approved department blueprints on-the-spot.
Under this historic road infrastructure initiative, the Punjab Government is not only focused on building new highways and link roads but is also prioritizing the regular repair and widening of existing networks to actively curb road accidents. In the Patiala district, the focus on Rajpura and Patran aims at enhancing vital inter-district connectivity with heavy-duty networks. Meanwhile, the work in Gurdaspur’s Fatehgarh Churian is specifically designed to upgrade semi-urban and rural road networks to boost local trade and ensure safe daily commuting. By blending rapid development with strict oversight, the Bhagwant Mann government is ensuring that Punjab’s transition into a state with premier infrastructure is built on a foundation of honesty, safety, and unmatched quality.
