Manoj Sorathiya slams BJP’s “FIR Policy” as Gujarat elections approach. AAP leader alleges targeted legal action against 5,500 candidates to suppress political competition.
As the political climate in Gujarat heats up ahead of the upcoming local body elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya has launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a recent video statement, the AAP leader alleged that the BJP has revived and strengthened its “FIR Policy” to intimidate political opponents and suppress the rising popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Targeted Legal Action Against AAP Candidates
According to Manoj Sorathiya, the state machinery is being used to systematically target AAP workers and candidates. He pointed out that while AAP has already announced approximately 5,500 candidates across the state, many are now facing legal hurdles. “Even today, FIRs have been registered against our candidates and dedicated workers. This is nothing but a clear attempt by the BJP to create an atmosphere of fear and force our candidates to withdraw their nominations,” Manoj Sorathiya stated.

“BJP is Terrified of AAP’s Growth”
The AAP leader drew a sharp contrast between the treatment of his party and the Congress. Manoj Sorathiya highlighted that while AAP members are being slapped with cases, not a single FIR has been registered against Congress leaders or candidates during this period. He argued that this disparity proves the BJP views AAP as its only credible threat. “The sheer number of FIRs at the time of elections makes it evident that the BJP is terrified of the Aam Aadmi Party’s growing influence among the people of Gujarat,” he added.
A Battle for Gujarat’s Future
Manoj Sorathiya emphasized that the BJP’s “politics of pressure” is a sign of desperation because the public has decided to vote against their “years of misrule.” He claimed that for the first time, the ruling party is facing a challenge that it cannot overcome through traditional means. “The people of Gujarat are ready to shatter the BJP’s pot of sins. They see AAP as a viable alternative that represents the common man’s voice,” said Manoj Sorathiya.
An Appeal to Voters
Concluding his statement, the AAP leader urged the citizens of Gujarat to make a decisive choice in the upcoming polls. Manoj Sorathiya remarked that as long as the current establishment remains in power, the plight of the common citizen will not improve. He promised that if the public chooses the ‘broom’ (AAP’s symbol), it will lead to “golden days” for the state, characterized by transparent governance and better public services.
As the election date nears, the allegations by Manoj Sorathiya have set the stage for a high-decibel confrontation between the ruling party and the rising third force in Gujarat politics.
