Mark Wood has played two games so far in the ongoing series, in which the pacer has taken four wickets at an average of 55.50 against the hosts, and will be doing his best to impress in the game as it is the last game of the series.

Right-arm pacer Mark Wood will replace Ollie Robinson in the England squad for the fifth and final Test against India at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

Wood has played two games in the series so far, taking four wickets at an average of 55.50 against the hosts and will be looking to make an impact in the final game of the series.

In the ongoing five-match series, India won the series 3–1, handing the first series to England under Stokes and McCullum. At this stage, England will be playing for their pride.

If the series is decided, both teams will need to earn Test World Cup points in Dharamsala. India are at the top of the Test World Cup standings, while England are ranked eighth. Winning a match gives the team 12 decisive points, while a draw is worth four points.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul’s participation depends on his fitness as he has been ruled out for the fifth and final Test against England in Dharamsala, while star batsman Jasprit Bumrah joins the squad.

After playing in the series opener in Hyderabad, Rahul missed the second, third and fourth Tests against England due to injury.

While giving a fitness update on Mohammed Shami, the board said the pacer underwent successful surgery on Monday for a problem in his right heel. He is on the recovering well and will soon go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to begin rehabilitation.
