Meet Hayer, a member of parliament from Sangrur, has accused the BJP-led center government of operating under a political conspiracy to harm the financial interests of Punjab state. He has stated that during the current legislative session, he will bring up the issues of the BJP-led center government’s deliberate withholding of funds for Punjab under the National Health Mission, Sarv Sikhiya Abhiyaan, and other central schemes, as well as the non-release of funds from the Rural Development Fund (RDF) and Mandi Development Fund (MDF) totaling approximately Rs. 7000 crore. Meet Hayer stated in a media interview held here today that he will continue to speak out against the federal government’s assault on Punjab’s financial rights till the state receives justice.
In response to a query regarding the selection of the Lok Sabha Speaker, Meet Hayer stated that it has long been an Indian democratic custom for the deputy speaker of the legislature to come from the opposition while the speaker comes from the ruling alliance. However, he claimed that the BJP is violating this custom in order to feed its own ego. The opposition parties emphasize that they must challenge the election of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in order to preserve this illustrious democratic legacy.
The Member of Parliament for Sangrur claimed that the BJP was undermining the nation’s democratic institutions and that the opposition had made it their mission to preserve democracy and the Indian Constitution in the recently held general elections, to which the Indian public responded favorably.
“The people of Punjab have chosen me to serve in the Lok Sabha, and my main responsibility will be to protect the state’s interests and speak out against any action taken by the federal government that would negatively impact our state of Punjab.” Promised to Meet Hayer.
