Mika Singh questions Diljit Dosanjh over his promotion of Border 2 and compares it with his posts for Sardaar Ji 3 featuring Hania Aamir.
Singer Mika Singh has opened up about his equation with Diljit Dosanjh and questioned the Punjabi star’s approach to promoting his Bollywood projects. While praising Diljit’s achievements and global popularity, Mika said he was surprised by what he perceived as limited promotion for films such as Border 2.
The comments came during a recent conversation, where Mika also spoke about Diljit’s journey in the Punjabi music industry and their long-standing connection.
Mika Singh Questions Diljit About Border 2
When asked whether he felt jealous of Diljit Dosanjh’s success, Mika dismissed the suggestion and said he was proud to see another Punjabi singer achieve international recognition.
Mika credited Diljit with taking Punjabi music to audiences across the world and said he had successfully carried forward the legacy of artists such as Daler Mehndi.
However, Mika Singh on Diljit Dosanjh took a more critical turn when the discussion moved to Border 2. The film features Diljit alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty and is directed by Anurag Singh.
‘He Did Not Promote It Even One Per Cent’
Mika said he felt Diljit could have spoken more about Border 2 and his experience of working with Sunny Deol.
According to Mika, he hardly noticed Diljit promoting the film on social media. He questioned why the singer-actor did not publicly highlight his association with a major Hindi film and his collaboration with Sunny Deol.
Mika described Border 2 as an important film connected with the country and said he believed Diljit should have spoken about it more.
The singer stressed that he was making the observation as a brother rather than as an attack on Diljit. This aspect of Mika Singh on Diljit Dosanjh was central to his explanation during the interview.
Diljit Had Promoted Border 2
While Mika questioned the extent of Diljit’s promotion, Diljit did share content related to Border 2. He revealed his first look from the movie in December 2025 and was also part of its promotional campaign.
Diljit additionally shared behind-the-scenes content and videos connected with the film and its music.
Therefore, Mika’s remarks appear to reflect his perception that Diljit’s promotional presence for the project was not as extensive as he expected.

Mika Brings Up Sardaar Ji 3
Mika also referred to Diljit’s Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, which featured Pakistani actor Hania Aamir along with Neeru Bajwa.
He said he noticed Diljit posting about the project involving Hania but felt that other collaborators, including Neeru Bajwa, should also have received attention in the promotional material.
The film became a subject of controversy because of Hania Aamir’s involvement amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. Sardaar Ji 3 did not receive a theatrical release in India and opened in overseas markets in June 2025.
Mika Says His Comments Come From a Place of Support
Despite raising questions about Diljit’s film promotions, Mika made it clear that he has supported the singer for years.
He recalled publicly standing up for Diljit when the latter faced criticism from Khalistani groups. Mika said he believed Diljit had done significant work in taking Punjabi music to a global audience.
Mika Singh on Diljit Dosanjh also reflected on their personal equation. He remembered Diljit visiting him during the early years of his career and recalled sharing butter chicken with him. Mika jokingly added that Diljit has since become vegetarian.
Diljit’s Team Used Mika’s Studio
Mika also recalled how his Lokhandwala studio was occasionally used by Diljit’s team whenever they needed a recording space at short notice.
He said Diljit’s manager Sonali would contact him when the team needed the studio urgently, and he was always willing to help.
These memories highlighted the long-standing professional and personal connection between the two singers, even as Mika raised questions about Diljit’s promotional choices.
Mika Had Earlier Raised Border-Related Concerns
Mika had previously expressed concerns about entertainment projects involving Pakistani artists. In June 2025, he posted a message on Instagram without directly naming Diljit.
In the post, Mika stressed that national interests should be considered when content involves artists from across the border. He also referred to opposition surrounding a project featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor and criticised what he described as irresponsible decisions involving cross-border collaborations.
His latest comments have brought the earlier controversy back into focus and added another layer to the discussion surrounding Diljit’s film choices.
What Is Diljit Dosanjh Doing Next?
Diljit was most recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, which released in June 2026. The film also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Sharvari and Vedang Raina.
The singer-actor is now preparing to take his Aura stadium tour across India, with multiple cities announced as part of the tour.
For now, Mika Singh on Diljit Dosanjh has become a talking point after the singer questioned Diljit’s approach to promoting his Hindi films while continuing to praise his contribution to Punjabi music and his international success.
