CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Rajasthan is moving fast with transparent processes, ease of doing business and expansion of infrastructure for development of mining sector. Our aim is to make Rajasthan a leading centre in mining. He said that from iron to gold, minerals are available in abundance in Rajasthan. He called upon the entrepreneurs to invest in the state and the state government is committed to provide all possible support to them.
Shri Sharma and Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy were attending the felicitation ceremony of 7 and 5 star rated mines organized by Indian Bureau of Mines at Rajasthan International Centre on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the star rating system promotes environmental protection and social responsibility along with the evaluation process of mining activities. Under this system, performance of mining leases has been assessed on important parameters such as scientificity, sustainable development, water management, plantation and social responsibility. Congratulating the representatives of the mines awarded by the Indian Bureau of Mines, he said that an innovation will be made to rate the mines in a similar way in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan sets record in auction of prime mineral leases
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan is a museum of minerals. Today 57 types of metallic and non-metallic minerals are being exploited in the state. The mineral produced here is 12% of the total mineral production value of the country. He said that Rajasthan has scored a century in the auction of mining leases of major minerals. Out of 500 blocks of prime minerals allocated across the country, Rajasthan has set a record of allocating more than 100 blocks i. e. more than 20%. Also, in Rajasthan, 960 plots of minor minerals and 137 plots of quarries have been successfully auctioned.

Shri Sharma said that during the previous government in the state, the revenue in the form of mining royalty in the year 2023-24 was only 7,460 crore rupees with an increase of 3 percent, while the royalty revenue in 2024-25 due to our efforts was 9,228 crore rupees, which was 24 percent more than the previous year. This royalty revenue is a record. He said that the State Government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against illegal mining under which three special drives have been launched against illegal mining.
Incentives being given to entrepreneurs setting up M-Sand units-
The Chief Minister said that the state government has formulated a new policy for m-sand, an alternative to gravel. Entrepreneurs setting up M-Sand units are being encouraged through this policy. He said that taking inspiration from the Prime Minister’s initiative ‘Ek Vridh Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, the state government has launched Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan. Under this, we have set a target of planting 50 crore saplings in a span of 5 years. Under this mission, more than 7.50 crore saplings have been planted last year. Also, 10 crore saplings are being planted during this rainy season.
The double engine government of the Centre and the state is developing every sector.
Shri Sharma said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed unprecedented changes since 2014. The schemes for the welfare of the poor started by him are uplifting the person sitting at the last end. At the same time, under his able guidance, unprecedented development work as well as terrorism-Naxalism have been eliminated in the country. He said that the double engine government of the Centre and the State is working dedicatedly for the development of every region of the State. Rajasthan, the largest state of the country, is becoming a centre of immense possibilities. There are ample opportunities for investment in various sectors including education, industry, tourism.
The Chief Minister said that we should develop such a mining model which will meet the requirements and also become an inspiration for the coming generations. He also called for making the mining industry a symbol of economic progress as well as environmental protection and social welfare.
