In a swift response, an FIR has been filed against both parties involved in the clash at the Civil Hospital in Dera Bassi, Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh said on Saturday.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Minister Balbir Singh immediately reached out to the Deputy Commissioner and the SSP of SAS Nagar, instructing them to take strict action against all those involved.
Minister Balbir Singh emphasized that hospitals are designated peace zones, and any breach of protocol or damage to public property will be dealt with firmly, regardless of political connections. He also noted that violence against healthcare workers or hospital property is a non-bailable offence.
Reassuring citizens, Minister Balbir Singh encouraged the public to continue accessing services at government health institutions, highlighting the commitment of doctors and staff to patient care. However, he made it clear that any disruption of hospital protocols will be taken seriously.
Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and recording witness statements to determine the full sequence of events.
