Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s dedication to delivering quality and hassle-free healthcare, Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh conducted surprise inspections at the Aam Aadmi Clinic in Urban Estate, Patiala, and the Civil Hospital in Rajpura on Thursday.
During his visit, Minister Balbir Singh engaged with patients to assess their satisfaction and gather feedback on services at government health centres. Many patients expressed their appreciation for the improved healthcare facilities, crediting the positive changes to the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Highlighting that the Aam Aadmi Clinic serves around 90–95 patients daily, Dr. Singh stated that the government’s initiatives to enhance health infrastructure have boosted public confidence, leading to increased reliance on government health services. He noted that 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics across Punjab are offering 80 types of medicines and 38 diagnostic tests completely free of cost.
Minister Balbir Singh emphasized that Aam Aadmi Clinics and Civil Hospitals are playing a crucial role in transforming Punjab’s healthcare system by providing timely, efficient, and free treatment to all citizens.
At Rajpura Civil Hospital, the minister observed a large number of patients availing services, especially near the Medicine OPD and pharmacy. To manage the crowd effectively, he instructed officials to involve nursing and ITI students to help streamline queues. He also promised to appoint more pharmacy officers and support staff to improve service efficiency.
Minister Balbir Singh further directed health officials to uphold high standards of patient care and ensure smooth functioning of all services. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance stance on negligence and warned that strict action would be taken against any shortcomings in service delivery.
