The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains deeply committed to the welfare of all communities, with a particular focus on uplifting Scheduled Castes, said Minister Baljit Kaur , Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, during a meeting at the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
While reviewing the functioning of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation (PSCLDFC) with its Director, Mr. Ravinder Hans, Minister Baljit Kaur directed officials to ensure that all welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries effectively and without delay.
Director Ravinder Hans presented a comprehensive overview of the Corporation’s ongoing schemes, highlighting that a significant number of underprivileged families are already benefiting from these programs. He also proposed organizing special awareness camps in every district to further enhance outreach and ensure direct delivery of scheme benefits to deserving individuals.
The meeting also brought to light several challenges, including staffing shortages, administrative hurdles, and unresolved matters within the Corporation. Minister Baljit Kaur attentively listened to all concerns and issued immediate instructions to resolve key issues. She assured that any remaining matters would be addressed swiftly.
The Minister reiterated her commitment to streamlining the implementation of Scheduled Castes welfare programs, making them more efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the community.
