Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that making books available in Indian languages across the country is a national mission.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled 41 new books under the PM YUVA 2.0 scheme at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2025 today. Tripura Governor Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu attended the event as the guest of honour.
While addressing the audience,Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the 41 young authors whose books were launched. He expressed confidence in their talent, stating that their creativity and writings would enhance the literary world and contribute to intellectual discourse.
The Minister thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for envisioning the PM YUVA Scheme, noting how it has evolved into a national movement. He highlighted its crucial role in mentoring and supporting aspiring authors, fostering representatives of Indiaโs rich culture, heritage, history, languages, and literature, while also shedding light on the stories of unsung heroes from the freedom struggle.
Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reiterated that the nationwide promotion of books in Indian languages is a key mission. He highlighted initiatives like PM YUVA as transformative efforts toward this goal. Additionally, he emphasized that the newly introduced โBharatiya Bhasha Pustak Schemeโ in this yearโs budget would further accelerate this national initiative.
Recognizing the crucial role of the National Book Trust (NBT) in making literature accessible in Indian languages, Shri Pradhan encouraged the institution to adopt technology and collaborate with both domestic and international publishers to showcase India’s literary heritage and linguistic traditions on a global scale.
Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also toured the Exhibition Halls, applauding NBT for organizing one of the worldโs largest book fairs. He described the event as a โGyan-Kumbhโ of literature, languages, knowledge, and culturesโa haven for readers to explore new books, engage with literature, meet authors, and connect with fellow book enthusiasts.
Additionally, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the Hindi edition of The Saga of Kudopali: The Unsung Story of 1857, announcing that it would soon be available in 12 Indian languages and two foreign languages for wider reach. He also released Sangama Madhavante Randu Krithikal, a Malayalam translation of the works of 14th-century mathematician and astronomer Sri Madhava.
