Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, on Friday, presented appointment letters to 11 young individuals selected as Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) in the Agriculture Department at his office.
Congratulating the new recruits, the minister urged them to commit themselves wholeheartedly to their duties and work diligently to uplift farmers and contribute to the growth of agriculture in the state. He underscored the crucial role ADOs play and encouraged them to offer dedicated support and guidance to farmers in making Punjab a prosperous agricultural hub.

Speaking about the ongoing recruitment efforts, Minister Gurmeet Khudian noted that earlier, on May 20, 2025, appointment letters were issued to 184 ADOs. With the addition of the latest batch of 11 officers, the total number of newly appointed ADOs has now reached 195.
He also highlighted that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has provided over 55,000 government jobs to the youth since taking office.
The minister stated that this recruitment drive would significantly strengthen the department’s ability to deliver more responsive and efficient services to farmers across the state.
On the occasion, Dr. Basant Garg, Administrative Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, congratulated the new appointees and encouraged them to serve with honesty and dedication. Director Agriculture Jaswant Singh and other senior officials were also present at the event.
