To further strengthen support for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs in Punjab, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian visited the Mega Food Park in Ladhowal, Ludhiana, where he assessed the infrastructure and operational industrial units.
During his visit, he conducted a detailed review of ongoing and upcoming projects by Punjab Agro Industries Corporation (PAIC) and instructed officials to prioritize initiatives that promote agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
He also interacted with representatives from leading food processing companies like Godrej Tyson Foods, DelMonte Foods, Anand Kartar Bakery, and Sant Foods — all of whom expressed satisfaction with the incentives and support provided by the state government.

At the Silage & Forage Processing complex, the Minister inspected advanced agricultural equipment and technologies used for harvesting and processing. A pilot project on Alfalfa cultivation and hay production was showcased, underlining its importance for dairy and livestock sectors as well as export markets. Officials also briefed him on upcoming initiatives like the promotion of rainy maize and Napier grass using all-weather harvesting systems.
Appreciating Punjab Agro’s innovative approach to sustainable agriculture and infrastructure development, Minister Gurmeet assured full government backing for both ongoing and future ventures aimed at empowering farmers and agri-entrepreneurs.
The visit was also attended by Principal Secretary for Food Processing Ms. Rakhi Gupta Bhandari, PAIC MD Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, senior PAIC officials, and agro-industry stakeholders.
