Minister Harbhajan Singh stated that 4,864 additional recruitments will be made in PSPCL in the year 2025-26.

Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO announced today that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) have completed a total of 6,586 recruitments since April 2022. The Power Minister also shared that an additional 4,864 recruitments will be made in PSPCL during the year 2025-26.

While presenting appointment letters to 35 Assistant Engineers, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that out of the total recruitments, 4,444 youths were hired by PSPCL and 782 by PSTCL through direct recruitment. Additionally, 1,360 individuals were recruited on compassionate grounds. “The main goal of these recruitments is to create more employment opportunities for the youth and strengthen the power department’s workforce, ensuring improved and uninterrupted electricity services for the people of Punjab,” he added.

Among the 35 Assistant Engineers who received their appointment letters, 22 specialize in Electronics and Communication, while 13 specialize in Electrical. During a personal interaction with each candidate, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO inquired about their educational backgrounds and preferences for working in the department. He congratulated the newly appointed Assistant Engineers and urged them to carry out their duties with dedication and commitment, expressing confidence in their ability to contribute positively to the state’s power sector.

Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment to providing employment to the youth, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO highlighted that since the government was formed in March 2022 under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, over 50,000 youth have been given employment opportunities. He stressed that PSPCL and PSTCL are working diligently to deliver the best electricity services to the people of Punjab. He assured that the government would continue to focus on creating more job opportunities while enhancing the infrastructure and services of the power department.
