Punjab Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO expressed his sincere gratitude to State Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh for selecting Manawala, a village in his Jandiala Guru constituency, as the site for the State Branch of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
This decision follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Punjab Health and Family Welfare Department and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi, to establish the branch at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Manawala, Amritsar district.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to public health, ensuring that the local community gains access to quality healthcare services.
He highlighted that the MoU will introduce critical disease control expertise to Punjab in line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s ‘Sehat Kranti’ initiative. The collaboration aims to enhance disease surveillance, improve outbreak preparedness and response, and provide logistical support and training for healthcare personnel.
Acknowledging the efforts of Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and the health department, Harbhajan Singh ETO emphasized that this project marks a crucial step towards a healthier and more prosperous Punjab.
