Minister Hardip Singh : While presenting the fourth budget of the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government, Singh Cheema announced several key initiatives for the state’s overall progress, with a strong focus on the Water Supply and Sanitation Department.
Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardip Singh Mundian expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister on behalf of the people and his department for prioritizing clean drinking water and improved sanitation for rural communities. The budget allocates ₹1,614 crore for these initiatives in the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Minister Hardip Singh highlighted that these funds will accelerate the implementation of surface water-based schemes, revamp aging infrastructure, and enhance rural sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). The budget also includes provisions for upgrading and expanding pipeline water supply in 176 villages, ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water for residents.
