During an interaction session under the state government’s ‘Dialogue with Teachers’ initiative, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Bains met with principals and teachers from Patiala district on Saturday. He announced that the third group of primary school teachers will soon be sent to Finland to receive training in modern teaching methodologies.
The session began with a solemn two-minute silence to honor the memory of seven children who lost their lives in a tragic school roof collapse in Jhalawar, Rajasthan.
Addressing the educators, Bains said that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Education Department has undergone a remarkable transformation and is now ranked number one in the country. He noted that in the past, the department suffered due to the misguided priorities of previous governments, where the focus was largely on transfers and contracts. In contrast, the current administration is emphasizing better infrastructure, high-quality education, and empowering teachers.
Minister Harjot Bains attributed the department’s progress to the commitment and constructive feedback of educators and assured that no union member has faced any kind of bias under the current government. “We’ve made efforts to address everyone’s concerns in an impartial and just manner,” he added.
